Feather now supports zap.cooking recipes

Recipes from zap.cooking now have their own tab in Feather.

Gigi had brought up recipes several times while we were building Feather. He wanted a place to browse what people were cooking. Now there’s a fork-and-knife tab for that, with recipes published through zap.cooking.

I asked what kept drawing him back to the idea.

“I just think it’s really neat that people share their recipes on Nostr, and that you can just straight up zap people. I think that’s still one of the absolute superpowers of Nostr: money flows through the system, and people can just share freely what they like. I absolutely love that about Nostr.”

The recipes are already on Nostr, so Feather can read them too. Open one for the ingredients and directions, visit the author’s profile, or send them a zap. The recipe feed includes people you don’t follow, giving you somewhere to find cooks you might otherwise miss.

Something to try

Had he found anything he wanted to cook?

“I saw a lentil soup that I’m going to try to make one day. I’ll probably also try my hand at making the fermented hot sauce I saw. I just love browsing the recipes and getting inspiration, basically. That’s why I wanted to have it.”

Both are still on his list. In the meantime, there are apple chips, coconut black rice, pancakes, and plenty more to browse. Thanks to the zap.cooking community for sharing them.

You can find the recipe tab in Feather on Zapstore.
